The hypothesis of a world that entered the Anthropocene, where human activity modifies the biosphere, is being studied everywhere. Like a wave, this question crosses all fields: human sciences, political economy, technical cultures, aesthetics... Bruno Latour sees it as a new concept: "with this indefinitely extended role of the human, humanism is perhaps back, but it must be acknowledged that it has a strange head since it mixes morality with geology and that it confuses in the same term the so-called social sciences and the so-called natural sciences".
The Ecologies program aims to activate exchanges between ecology, the science that studies living beings in their environment, with their interactions, and architecture, the art of creating living conditions. It is a question of reopening the doors between architecture and the contemporary multidisciplinary debate on the evolution of "inhabited environments": experimental sciences and human sciences, global history, geography, development economics...
